If you're thinking about getting a wax, you've probably got a few questions - especially if it's your first time. Here's a few things our clients usually want to know about...

Can I get waxed on my period?

Yes! as long as you can wear a tampon or cup you can get waxed. Simple as that, no need to rearrange. 

If you do need to rearrange the 24 hour cancellation policy does still apply.

Intimate waxing - does it hurt?

This is the most common question we get! There’s no getting away from the fact that if it’s your first time, you’re likely to feel some slight discomfort. However due to our technique, training and expertise we can ensure you the most comfortable wax. Any pain experienced only lasts for a second when the wax is coming off and disappears just as quick. There will be no discomfort after your wax. The important thing here is that the more regularly you have treatments, the more comfortable it will become.

How long will it take?

It depends on the treatment you’re having, but typically a Brazilian will take 15 minutes.
 

How often should I get a treatment?

It differs between individuals based on hair regrowth, but we recommend you come every 4-5 weeks to ensure best results.
 

What’s the difference between hot wax and strip wax?

We only use premium hot wax (non-strip wax) for our Intimate wax treatments, it sticks the hair and not the skin causing much less trauma to those delicate intimate areas, and is more comfortable afterwards. Strip wax is removed with a paper strip, and is better suited to more resilient areas of the body like your legs.
 

I’ve heard some salons double-dip, do you do it?

Never! Double-dipping (the process of using the same spatula more than once) is extremely unhygienic and we’d never put our clients at risk of any infection.
 

How long does my hair need to be to have wax?

For best results, and less discomfort, it's important the hairs are around around 1 cm (about the length of a grain of rice) in length.
 

What if I can’t make the appointment?

No problem, just please let us know in advance! You can cancel or rearrange at least 24 hours before your appointment. If it’s less than 24 hours before your appointment, and you don’t rearrange, then we’ll charge 100% of the treatment price. Don’t worry about accidentally forgetting about your appointment, we’ll send text or e-mail reminder 2 days before.
 

I’m pregnant, can I still get waxed?

Yes of course! Just be aware that, particularly during your first trimester, due to increased hormones you may feel slightly more discomfort during the treatment.
 

I think I might be too hairy, should I trim?

No, don’t worry about it. We’ll ensure the hair is the right length if it looks like it would be too long before the treatment. 
 

Can I pay with card?

Yes, and there’s no charge for using card.

I’m under 18, can I get a wax?

We only offer intimate waxing treatments for clients aged 18 or over. If you’re over 15 and under 18, then you’ll need to bring a parent or guardian with you to the salon for any other of our waxing treatments. 
 

I shaved a week ago, can I still have a wax?

Typically there needs to be 3 weeks of hair growth, preferably 4 weeks. If hair isn’t long enough we can’t guarantee results – and we can always tell if the hair has recently been shaved, so treatment may need to be rearranged.
 

I had my first wax, but a week later I noticed stubble started growing through, why?

Waxing breaks your hairs natural regrowth cycle, so it sometimes happens that you will see some stubble. It usually takes around 3 or 4 waxes before the regrowth cycle is fully broken.
 

Should I do anything before my appointment?

For best results, it's advisable to exfoliate before your appointment. Hygiene is very important to us, so if possible please take a shower. Wipes are provided for clients in the salon and it would be appreciated if you could be courteous and freshen-up before your wax.

What happens after a wax?

Any redness is totally normal and will go down with 6-8 hours. Some clients with sensitive skin find antiseptic creams such as Beanthol and Savlon are soothing afterwards.  There’s a section on the website covering the after-care advice that we’ll also explain after your treatment. And don't forget, we stock a range of products in the salon to help you maintain the results and avoid pesky ingrown hairs between waxes!
 

I really want an intimate wax but I’ve never had one before and I’m a bit embarrassed...

This is another really common question, but don't worry! Our speciality is the Brazilian, we’re true professionals and will put you at ease. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about! After 10 years, I've seen everything and I'm looking at the hair that needs to be pulled out. Hairy legs? I don't even notice...don't shave them for me!
 

Is there car parking near your salon?

Yes we have client parking right outside the salon.
 

I’m going on holiday tomorrow, am I OK to get waxed?

Yes it doesn’t stop you getting a wax, but just remember you need to keep waxed skin out of direct sunlight and out of swimming pools for 24 hours after your treatment.
 

Can I exercise straight after my wax?

Unfortunately not, you should wait 24 hours as hair follicles will still be open and therefore it could increase the risk of bacteria entering the follicles and causing an infection.
 

Will I need to remove my underwear for a Brazilian wax?

Well you don’t want to get wax on your best knickers! For G-String and Brazilian waxes, underwear will need to be removed as it’s the only way to get the best results. If you don’t feel comfortable removing underwear then the Extended Bikini wax is for you.

Under no circumstance can we provide intimate waxing treatments to clients who currently suffer from a Sexually Transmitted Infection. Clients who have suffered from Urinary Tract Infection are advised to ensure the infection has cleared up before booking a treatment.
